Nevada County, CA — Rumors have spread throughout Nevada County that a retail store owner is helpful to customers.
Sources tell the Scooper that the owner greeted them when they entered the store. Then the owner engaged the customers in friendly conversation and went as far as to ask if there was anything the customers needed. They said customers had a question about a product and the owner happily took a minute to find out the answer.
Local area business owners are appalled by the news.
“How are we supposed to survive if we now have to add customer service to our business model? I don’t want to have to smile at people if I don’t feel like it. And so what if I don’t return phone calls? People know where to find me if they need something,” said Grass Valley business owner who asked us not to reveal his identity.
“We want to maintain our community. Why should we bring big city ideas of making a profit from our stores?” asked a Nevada City 30-year business owner.
A 3-day seminar is being scheduled to discuss how to maintain a level of small town complacency in a struggling economy.

The Scooper tried to track down the location of the pleasant shopping experience but no one on the popular Facebook page NC Peeps has been shopping since 2004 so it was impossible to get an answer.
